For this assignment you are going to watch an animated movie and pick a scene. Every time the camera changes, I want you to pause the movie and roughly draw what's on screen.
This exercise will help you to understand how story boarding works in a professional capacity.
You get to choose what your final project is. It can be a game, VFX, motion graphics, animated film, virtual reality, or product visualization.
My project will be a visual effects video. A portal will appear in a parking lot and hundreds of hamburgers will shoot out on to the ground.
To complete the project I will need video of a parking lot. I will also need to learn tracking and smoke effects to create the portal.
For this assignment you will have to make the character jump to at least two platforms. You will have no arms, so you will need to make the character use it's upper body to balance.
Now that you have had practice with spacing, it's time to work on timing.
Your assignment is to give different weight to these two spheres.
-The black ball is a bowling ball
-The striped ball is a beach ball
In order to focus just on the blocking you need to set your keyframes in the graph editor.
Press T and select Constant. Now the computer will not interpolate the data between your keys.
Now that you've worked on posing characters it's time to animate two of those poses.
